Recently Dustin and I bought Peyton a in the door frame "Jumpster". She tried one out @ my grandparent's house and loved it so we got one for our house. It is the best investment (toy-wise) that we have made! She really loves jumping and being independent, not to mention she is getting a great work-out to try to get rid of some of those rolls! Enjoy watching!

Peek A Boo
Peyton is really growing up every day and showing us just how smart she is and just how talented a 4 month old can be...
She pulls the blankie up all by herself and will wait for me to say "Where's Peyton?" and then she looks from under that blankie with her beautiful blue eyes as if to say, "Here I am silly!" I love her so much!

To Teeth or Not to Teeth...It's Not Even a Question

As we were eating yesterday at a local resteraunt with Grammy Pammy, Grandpa Denny, Uncle Dave, Aunt Amber, and Cousin Kaya we looked across the table and BOTH girls sat chewing their little fingers and drooling everywhere! Yep its that time...Teething Time! Kaya has got a leaping head start and already has eight teeth at eight months of age...she's even trying to get some molars already. Peyton began to feel sympathy pains a few weeks ago, and although we can't see any teeth yet she has really started drooling and chewing on those little fingers. Please pray for both the girls as they chew their way through this though time!

All Because Two People Fell in Love...
If you are a frequent visitor of our blog you've probably noticed that the title has changed from "Tales of a Thompson" to "All Because Two People Fell in Love...". I wanted to explain my reasoning behind this so that you might understand my thought process. There is a song by Brad Paisley (Dustin's favorite country singer) entitled, "Because two People Fell in Love". The lyrics to the song are as follows...
A baby's born in the middle of the night in a local delivery room
They grab his feet, smack him till he cries he goes home the next afternoon
'Fore you know it he's off to school and then he graduates in May
Goes out and gets a Ph.D. and then cures all sorts of things
Wins a Nobel Prize and saves a million different lives
The world's a better place for all he's done
It's funny when you think about the reason he's alive
It's all because two people fell in love
Right now at a picnic shelter down by Caney Creek
You'll find potato salad hot dogs and baked beans
The whole Wilson family's lined up fillin' their paper plates
They've drove or flown in here from fifteen different states
Well Stanley Wilson says that sixty years ago he knew
That Miss Emma Tucker was the one
Now five generations get together every June
All because two people fell in love
[1st Chorus]
There ain't nothin' not affected
When two hearts get connected
All that is, will be, or ever was
Every single choice we make
Every breath we get to take
Is all because two people fell in love
Well, I recall a young man who was driftin' aimlessly
And a young waitress who seemed lonesome as could be
But in a little cafe right off of fourteenth avenue
With a whole lotta help from up above
We met and things sure turned around for me and you
And all because two people fell in love
[2nd Chorus]
Baby, there ain't nothin' not affected
When two hearts get connected
All that is, will be, or ever was
I'm glad your dad could not resist
Your mama's charms and you exist
All because two people fell in love
[Tag]
You know, to me it's all so clear
Every one of us is here
All because two people fell in love
A baby's born in the middle of the night in a local delivery room
They grab his feet, smack him till he cries he goes home the next afternoon
I know what you're thinking..."Wow! That's really country!" and you are definitely right, however the premise behind the song really touches my heart. It is all because two people fell in love that we are all here. I chose to entitle our blog this because I fell in love with Dustin about three years ago and God and put our lives into overdrive ever since. Getting married, buying a house, and now having our beautiful baby girl added to our lives all happened through the Lord bringing us together and allowing these two people to fall in love, and how thankful we are!
Let me know how you feel about this new title, I hope that you like it!

Itchy Scratchy Baby
For the past few weeks I have noticed red, blotchy, dry spots on Peyton's legs and arms. Recently, they have spread to her stomach and face, so this past Tuesday Dustin and I took her to the doctor for a consult. Dr. Moll, our pediatrition, confirmed that it is infact a severe case of Eczema. He percribed us some "rescue" ointment to apply all over her body for the next week. He also gave us some tips for preventative treatment for the future to hopefully get her skin under control. He said that this will most likely be something that she will struggle with for a while, so we are taking her treatments (ointments, lotions, fragrence free and dye-free washes and detergents) pretty seriously. These patches can become irritating and itchy in the future so hopefully these creams and ointments will get in under control to prevent an irritated Peyton. We have been using the perscribed ointment for two days now and everything seems to be clearing up nicely. We'll keep you updated!
P.S. Peyton weighed in at 18 lbs and 9 ounces! My sweet big girl!

Mommy and Peyton waiting for Dr. Moll at Parkside Pediatrics...look at all those rolls!

Humbleness is Learned

About 10 or more years ago I met a boy named Jordan. He rolled into my Sunday school class in a wheel chair being pushed by his younger brother and older sister. I have to admit I was intimidated by the unknown and a bit scared in my childish immaturity. Regretfully, I never got to know Jordan very well because I kept my distance from this boy in the wheelchair. I never in a million years expected that years down the road God would bring us together as siblings.
Seven years ago my mother began to date a man named rob Roberts, who two years after that became my step-dad. When he joined our family he brought with him his three children who I love dearly, in that bunch is Jordan Roberts, the boy in the wheelchair I had known so many years before. In the few years I have know Jordan he has become one of my best friends, daily teaching me humility and to be thankful for all the many blessings in my life.
In getting to know Jordan I learned that he has Cerebral Palsy, impairing his motor skills and some brain function. Although the task of walking is a rough and challenging one for Jordan, he does is with a smile on his face. He is thankful for every little thing in life and often shows excitement and appreciation for things that the rest of us might over look in our daily lives. He loves everything and everyone and sees the good in all situations. He loves to sing, play his guitar, and play and watch sports. He has overcome many challenges in his life, even proving doctors wrong by walking and doing other physical activities, which were said to be out of reach when he was first diagnosed.
The other night at my parent's house my mom called me back to Jordan's room. In his lap in front of his TV sat my daughter, as happy as any child could be. Jordan had a look of satisfaction and accomplishment on his face as he exclaimed, "She's smiling at me!" I teared up as I thought about all of the things that this young man has accomplished in his life and the place he is today. Peyton sat there for a few minutes and eventually became restless and tired. I loaded her up in her car seat then went back to Jordy's room to tell him goodbye. He immediately asked me if I had Peyton (always worried about every one's safety and whereabouts) and then he held out his hand and said, "Thank you for letting me hold Peyton". He was so thankful for that small task and I've been told that's all he's been talking about since. I can't wait for my little girl to grow up and get to know this amazing person and I hope she can learn as much as I have from him about thankfulness and humility.
