Days Go By

Days go by too quickly around our household. To catch you up on the goings of our lives here's a hodgepodge of information!

On Sunday we arrived at church to find that cousin Kaya and Peyton were wearing the exact same outfit right down to the adorable little hat. Oh and look at the Mommies, we're wearing almost the same outfit too! So cheesy, but so not planned!

It's so fun to see Peyton interacting with other children. Elijah is one of her closest buddies who we hope becomes her big brother and protector as they grow up. He is so sweet to both Kaya and Peyton and always wants to help us with them. The other night he wanted to help Dustin feed Peyton so I let him shake up the bottle and he held the bottle for Peyton. Since Elijah's mommy is expecting a baby boy in March we hope that this is good training for what's to come. He is sure to be the best big brother of them all.

Peyton also had her first doctor's visit aside from her routine well-checkups. I decided to take her in because she was showing signs of acid reflux (a condition in which the stomach makes too much acid). She was spitting up more than usual and crying and fussing after eating and while sleeping. I told the doctor how she had been acting and he suggested using a medication called Zantac. It reduces the acid levels in the stomach, hopefully creating a more pleasant digestive process. He prescribed it to her three times a day for thirty days and then he wants to see us again to assess the situation. I also showed him a rash that has been developing under her chin in her little fat roll. I thought that it was just chafing, however he said that it was yeast build up. Yeast likes to grow in moist crevasses of the skin (aka fat rolls) and it had camped out under her chin. He prescribed an ointment for that as well and I apply that to the area three times a day for two weeks or until the condition has cleared up. Poor baby...we will keep you posted on these conditions, but I am sure everything will continue to improve!

P.S. We are taking Peyton and Kaya to take their Christmas pictures on Friday, so hopefully we will have some good shots to show you soon! I'm so excited to see them in their matching Christmas dresses!
