Light of My Life

This past Sunday Peyton, Dustin and I went to our weekly Sunday night dinner at my parents house. This is one of my favorite days of the week because I get to see my family and spend some quality time with them, which is rare for people to do in this day and age. We ate a wonderful meal and then afterwards we went down to the back of my parent's property and had a bonfire! My nieces , Benae and Averie were so excited about the fire and even brought marshmallows, gram crackers, and chocolate to make smores!

It was a little warm by the fire, but Peyton didn't seem to mind too much! Dustin and I sat with her on a bail of hay, feeling pretty very rustic indeed!

My nieces awaited instructions and the A-OK to start toasting their marsh mellows! It took a while to get the perfect procedure down, but once they got it there was no stopping them. By the end of the night I found the girls sitting by the fire eating the chocolate bar straight out of the wrapper...food is much better when you don't have to work for it.

My mom, Candis, and I had a blast by the fire. All diets were off when they brought out the sticks and marshmallows, girls just want to have fun (and chocolate)!

Papa couldn't be prouder to sit by the campfire with three of the most beautiful girls in the world! He can't wait to teach them how to build a fire of their own...oh the trouble that awaits them at Papa's house...

By the end of the night Peyton had had her fill and fell asleep, basking in the glow of the fire light. As bright as the light from the fire was, it paled in comparison to the light of my life, my baby girl. Her love warms my heart daily and warms me more than any fire ever could. My love is growing by leaps and bounds with every passing moment, the lord is good!
